1 month measurements

Weight: 8 pounds 3 ounces - 25th percentile

Length: 21.5 inches - 75th percentile

Head Circumference: 14.75 inches - 50-75th percentile

We went back to the doctor's yesterday for a weight check, because last week Ariana measured exactly what her hospital discharge weight was (7 pounds 10 ounces).
We knew it couldn't be right - she has been eating and pooping non-stop -
but went back for a double-check.
Apparently, she had gained 9 ounces in the last 9 days!
(Or more likely, the nurse made a mistake with the scale last week,
since I noticed she didn't zero it down first.
She also didn't know how to measure head size.)

Anyway, all is well, baby is growing like we knew she was.
She is not yet back to her birth weight, but that's been true with Caleb too -
after being born quite big, his growth rate was slowed,
so that seems to be normal for our family.
(Breastfed babies don't gain as fast either, as formula-fed babies.)

They say growth rate after birth is determined more by genetics and metabolism,
whereas growth in the womb is determined by how much the mother eats.
